The TEA Bogie Tank wagons were introduced in 2006 and were designed to haul petroleum. Fully loaded, these tanks can weigh up to 101.6 tonnes each with usually 30 tanks in a train set, so that's just over 3,000 tonnes in total.
DB Schenker has recently launched the next step in heavy haulage and has now introduced 36 TEA Bogie Tank wagons in one train set adding an additional 447 tonnes of fuel to be moved per train movement.
With such weight and length behind a train the driver must be skilled and patient in order to make a successful delivery.
