Class 150/2 for TS2012

Thomson Interactive Ltd and Oovee Ltd are delighted to announce their latest joint venture - a Class 150/2 DLC for Train Simulator 2012.

This second generation diesel multiple unit was introduced in the 1980s to replace British Rail's ageing fleet of "Heritage" DMUs. Built by BREL York the 150/2 design incorporates a gangway cab design (unlike the 150/1 units). These two car sets have operated throughout the UK since their introduction and continue service to this day throughout England and Wales.

Both Thomson and Oovee have combined forces and skills to produce probably the most advanced and accurate simulation of a UK multiple unit to date. While incorporating the new 2012 features such as glass weather effects and projecting headlights, they have extended the functionality further to provide seven liveries with features such as:

- Independent lighting control of Headlights, Marker Lights and Tail Lights.

- Over 20 scrollable and illuminated destination blinds selectable in-game.

- Two speed and individual wiper control that interact with 2012 effects.

- Opening cab side windows that alter sound entry in to the driver cabin.

- Working cabin lights that illuminate the driving environment.

- Functional Master Key animation, functionality and cabin setup routine.

- Operational DRA (Drivers Reminder Appliance).

- Functional Door Interlock and air pressures.

- Prototypical brake control.

- Accurate train performance recreated from industry measurement.

- Sounds recorded from the prototype.

Product updates

As the release of Train Simulator 2012 draws closer we are begining to plan ahead and intiate an update for all products. Out of the box, it is unlikely that our products will appear visually correct in the new simulator due to the use of a new shader technology. The product-wide updates that we will provide post release of TS2012 will include any prevoiusly reported issues and insuring our products are compatible with the new software.
